Write for us

We welcome clear, original proposals about the ways people make and use homes across cultures. Send proposals through the Contact page; a focused question and a credible plan matter more than a grand claim.

Ideas we want to read

Pitch stories about domestic spaces, household objects, materials, meals, or customs that have a clear subject and a reason readers may find it useful or intriguing. Strong proposals explain what the piece will examine, what context it needs, and how it will avoid treating one household or community as representative of everyone.

A good pitch

Include a working title, a short summary, the central question, and a brief note on the sources or expertise you would draw on. Mention any relevant cultural context or limits, and disclose interests that could affect the piece. We value original reporting and careful explanation, but do not claim work has been tested or witnessed first-hand unless it has.

Sending and standards

Use the Contact page to send a proposal and select the editorial question option. Unsolicited drafts are not required; a concise pitch is enough to start a conversation. Submissions should be original, respectful, and open to editorial review. Sending an idea does not guarantee publication, and we do not invent response times or acceptance promises.
